TEACHING

As a teacher, I aim to help students enhance their soft skills and promote collaborative and critical thinking.

I started lecturing and tutoring in 2010. I have gained extensive multicultural teaching expertise as a lecturer in Mexico, the Netherlands, and Belgium. I have designed courses for bachelor, master programmes and international programmes, including Erasmus, Erasmus+ and PhD Marie Skłodowska-Curie Innovative Training Networks. The courses fall within my expertise in environmental and digital transitions. I hold a University Teaching Qualification certificate. The courses I teach are among the highest evaluated by students in the programmes where I teach. I currently co-supervise 2 PhDs and have (co-) supervised 7 master’s students.

Examples of evaluations from students as lecturer and tutor:

I want to express how truly invaluable your help and support have been to me. I found myself in a situation where I was on the verge of giving up after dedicating a year of time and resources to my academic journey. Without your acceptance of my mentorship, I wouldn’t have been able to graduate.

Your unwavering support and mentorship were the lifeline that kept me going during that challenging time. You are the epitome of an ideal supervisor, someone anyone would be fortunate to have. I am deeply indebted to you for your kindness and support, and I will never forget the warmth and encouragement you provided throughout this journey. I wish I could meet you in person to convey just how grateful I am to have you as my supervisor.

Thanks to Cesar Casiano Flores, my supervisor from the University of Twente. Not only for the good guidance and very useful feedback, but also for bringing me in contact with Arturo, and in that way starting my job at IITAAC and the great time I had in Mexico.

Course Evaluations

The Integrated Research Seminar course in 2023 had the highest satisfaction among the master students and was described as “a great preparation in writing our master thesis later”.

In evaluation as a lecturer with Tecnológico de Monterrey, the scale ranged from 1 to 5, with 1 being the highest evaluation for the lecturer and 5 the worst. I was graded with an average of 1.23. This means that the students were highly satisfied with my teaching.
