CESAR CASIANO FLORES
Assistant Professor in Water and Climate Change
Welcome to my website! My name is Cesar Casiano Flores and I am an Assistant Professor in the field of Water and Climate Change. I work in the Department of Technology, Policy, and Society, within the Governance and Technology for Sustainability (CSTM) section at the University of Twente. I also hold two affiliations, one as an associate researcher at the Public Governance Institute in KU Leuven and another at the Instituto de Investigaciones en Medio Ambiente at the Universidad Iberoamericana Puebla.
Before my current roles, I worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Public Governance Institute and the Spatial Application Division Leuven within KU Leuven. My academic journey has focused on the governance of environmental and digital policies in urban areas. My research covers a wide range of topics, including wastewater treatment policies, climate change adaptation, the transition towards climate-sensitive cities, circular economy, land policies, urban mobility, smart cities, open data, and European Interoperability. I explore the fascinating interplay between governance, digitalisation and environment, to identify how we can better address the challenges we face in water management and climate change adaptation in our cities.
